Eye Tracking
On supported headsets, WEAVR can use the device eye-tracking provider to obtain the user's gaze and feed it into the interaction and assessment systems.
Capabilities
- An optional eye-tracking provider is used when available; WEAVR checks that continuous eye tracking is actually supported before relying on it.
- Eye gaze pose and device IMU data can be integrated and exported together with gaze targets.
- The Visual Inspection condition can adapt to eye tracking, so an inspection step can be validated by where the user is actually looking rather than only by head direction.
note
Eye tracking requires a headset with eye-tracking hardware and the corresponding runtime enabled. When eye tracking is not available, WEAVR falls back to the standard (head-based) behavior.
warning
For now, only the HTC VIVE eye tracking (VIVE Focus Vision) is supported. Support for additional devices is planned for future releases.
